Classic vintage motorcycles Vs new motorbikes 2016 Le Mans Bikers Fest

In the eve of the new motorcycle racing season on Le Mans circuit Bugatti, and one week before the start of the French Superbike Championship 2016, little bike festival “Festi Motard” was organized on the parking of Le Mans track. More than 300 french bikers made the motorcycle run under led off the winner of MotoGP France 2012 in Moto3 Louis Rossi in the surrounding area of Le Mans. In the same time,  french classic vintage motorcycles collectors have demonstrated their unique old motorcycle models. Some of the rare European motorcycle manufacturers were represented in the improvised exhibition.

Nearby motorcycle shops did not hesitate also to take advantage of bikers meeting. They have arranged show the latest models of modern bikes and choppers.

French classic vintage motorcycles

Dollar R2 350 cc 1929

The first motorcycle Dollar appears in 1923, it is a 125cm3 set with a Moser motor.In 1929 appearance of model R2 with 250cc et 350cc motor Jap, the front of forged steel frame and the rear tube.

Terrot 500 RSSL 1937

The 250 and 350 cm3 bikes by Terrot were manufactured in Dijon. Terrot was the most selling of all French motorcycles brands before the war. The brand won the 24 Hours Bol d’Or in 1934 and exported motorbikes even to Japan. Terrot absorbed in 1959 by Peugeot.

First introduced at the Motor salon 1933, flagship Peugeot 515 from a new high-end line called “Motorcycles of Great Power” beating a year later three world records of pure speed.

Ratier L7 8 Ce flat twin

Ratier motorcycles: At the end of the Second World War, the Germans had abandoned in France a large stock of spare parts and equipment of BMW motorcycles. To use them had been created Motors Centre Study to Explosion and Combustion (CEMEC). They take stock and comes out famous L7, with 750 cm3 side valve engine in 1951, The CEMEC does not build more than 1300 motorcycles and filed for bankruptcy in 1954. The production was taken over by Ratier, a subcontractor in aerospace parts which sees a good opportunity to diversify.
