Remarkable Corvette C7R Racing Cars Photos at 24 Hours Le Mans 2016
As every year since 2000, the largest producer of racing cars from the United States – Chevrolet Corvette was present in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2016. Official factory Pro Corvette Racing team enter two Corvette C7R cars Version 2016 in LM GTE Pro category. In LM GTE Am, the French Corvette partner Larbre Competition team and Taiwanese AAI Motorsports line up each with one Corvette C7 Z06 version 2015. This is the 17th consecutive participation of Corvette Racing at LeMans 24 Hours. The first appearance of Corvette cars at the 24 Hours endurance race on Le Mans circuit De La Sarthe was in 2000 and the first victory arrives the following year in the GTS class.

After the start of the race, the first 52 minutes were run behind the safety car, as a result of heavy rains which soaked an already saturated famous 24 hours circuit in Le Mans.

Pro Corvette Racing
At the 17th hour of the race in Sunday morning, Corvette C7R car #64 was forced to retire following a crash. Driving by Tommy Milner, with his teammates Oliver Gavin and Jordan Taylor in the team boxes, suffered a hard impact when his Corvette went hard into the outside wall prior to the first turn during heavy braking.
The remaining in the race Corvette C7R car #63 from Pro Corvette Racing team under control of Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen and Ricky Taylor finished seventh in the LM GTE Pro class, after starting at the 14th place in this category and last on the grid. The trio ran a steady, clean race with none of the major mistakes that claimed many of the other runners in the class.

Corvette C7 Z06 car from the french auto racing team Larbre Competition ends 8th in LM GTE Am class and in 37th place overall. The team from Le Vigeant ends up with a bit of disappointment.

One of the Le Mans legend – based in Taiwan AAI Motorsports racing team from Asian Le Mans Series first time taken part in 24 hours race with Corvette C7 Z06 2015 car controlled by drivers: O’CONNELL, BRYANT and PATTERSON at the wheel. And at finish only 9th place in LM GTE Am class and 39 in overall.
